With the bars closed and everyone trying to find things to do at home, Scapegrace Distillery and Box Bar are swinging in to save the day! They are arming thirsty folk with their Black Box — a cocktail kit featuring Scapegrace Black Gin, mixers, and garnishes — available for delivery nationwide.

Like your much-loved local (only with a very 2021 twist) Box Bar is the first-ever dedicated digital bar born within the Sydney-based venue, The Fox Hole. With a passionate and knowledgeable hospitality team (who are all-around gin fanatics), Box Bar has enlisted the perfect accompaniment: Scapegrace Black Gin.

Championed as the world’s first natural black gin, this craft spirit from our neighbours in New Zealand is carefully curated using organic botanicals (aronia berry, saffron, pineapple, butterfly pea, sweet potato), to produce that very distinct and ominous black hue. It also changes colours when mixed.

“Scapegrace Black is such a unique product which has taken the world by storm with its naturally black hue, distinct taste and colour changing properties. When the opportunity came about to partner with the legends from Box Bar, we couldn’t think of a better opportunity to bring the party to your house,” says Mark Neal, Marketing Director at Scapegrace.

Equipped with Scapegrace Black samples and a cocktail guide — which you can order via Box Bar — revellers can also be granted access to a one-off gin masterclass hosted by Scapegrace ambassador Mikey Ball (who also created the unique gin!) and James Harvey-Fiander, chief experience officer at Box Bar.

This one-hour session, hosted on Saturday 04 September, will showcase signature serves of Scapegrace Black Gin and highlight its colour changing properties, all at the hands of a master distiller and a mixologist.

“In 2020, the world changed. So we did too!” James Harvey-Fiander says. “So we created Box Bar, Australia’s first dedicated digital bar.

“We think you ought to be able to try new and interesting drinks wherever you are. And when it comes to interesting drinks, Scapegrace Black felt like the epitome; a perfect match to share unique spirits and stories with our customers.”

The limited-edition Scapegrace Black Box is available for purchase via Box Bar right now, ahead of the consumer masterclass with an RRP of $55 plus shipping, for 18 years and over only, and while stock lasts.
