Melbourne, indulge in this new curry pub and rooftop cocktail bar…
If there’s anything we’ve been longing for during lockdown, it‘s been something new…and something a little glamorous at that. Luckily, Mr Brownie is here to answer our prayers on both angles.
Introducing the new South Melbourne based, British-inspired, curry oasis you didn’t know you needed: Mr Brownie Rooftop Hotel.
A multi-level venue, this new addition to the South Melbourne scene is set to be a new hub for the dining scene. On the ground floor, a Punjabi-style deli will sell a range of inauthentic British-Indian pub food for eat-in or takeaway. Better yet, meals bought here can be eaten throughout the venue. Those looking for something a little al fresco, a 70-seater sunshine-soaked pub garden is the perfect spot to try one (or more) of their offerings from an impressive 1000-strong beer list.
Once the sun has set, head downstairs to the speakeasy-style cocktail bar and dancing lounge – The Boom Boom Room. Accessed through a concealed wall of beer cans, this is the spot for real creatures of the night, with a red velvet look and neon lighting to match.
And, on top of all this, there’s a rooftop terrace which boasts city skyline views, a portable tiki bar and rotating DJs. And, for those who are looking for something more intimate, two private dining spaces are available, decked out with Hollywood regency inspired velvet shell couches.
“There’s a real sense of community in South Melbourne that we can’t wait to be a part of. If you’re picking up takeaways, popping in for a drink or staying for a dance, Mr Brownie welcomes everyone,” says Singh. “Wear your comfy shoes and let the fun begin.”
Mr Brownie Rooftop Hotel will be open from Thursday 02 July 2020.
