Formerly a deli, Salt Meats Cheese Mosman has redesigned their menu and their interiors to suit the Mosman crowd.
Mosman locals may have noticed the newspaper-covered windows, but the former deli has officially reopened up its doors today after transforming into pizzeria will a full redesign and a killer menu to match.
Italian-style pizza has always been a strong feature for Salt Meats Cheese, ever since the opening of their original location in Alexandria. But the brand’s transition to a far more pizza and restaurant orientated business has only grown with the more recent openings of Salt Meats Cheese in Broadway and Drummoyne, both of which have a more restaurant based focus. This isn’t to say that the brand is moving exclusively in the restaurant direction, but rather repositioning their stores “with what the local are after,” says Salt Meats Cheese Co-Founder Edoardo Perlo.
The team have ditched the original high seating for low tile-top tables to offer a more casual dining experience. You can expect to see hand-tossed pizza dough for their signature pizzas which will be cooked in a newly installed woodfired oven, with the menu including all the old favourites like the classic truffle mushroom ($23) and the buffalo mozzarella ($17). Entrees will entail saffron and provolone arancini ($14), sausage, mushroom and smoked scarmorza lasagna ($17), and a salumi board of cured meats, pickles and house-made focaccia ($23). Oh, and don’t skip on the parmesan truffle fries ($9.50).
Salt Meats Cheese has also developed a special pasta and pizza kids menu to really cater to the family vibe that seems to suit the Mosman demographic.
Salt Meats Cheese has also partnered with with Italian heritage Regal Rogue, Australia’s first native vermouth to offer a series of spritzes to the cocktail menu. All served in a wine glass over ice, choose from elderflower tonic, ginger beer and bitter lemon options ($13). The drinks menu is rounded out with a selection of Italian and Australian beers including Menabrea and Stone & Wood Pacific Ale as well as wines and cocktails.
Salt Meats Cheese is open for dinner seven nights a week and on the weekends from 11am, with home delivery available via Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Bookings will be taken for 1 – 48 people.
