Shaved, dressed and put on your Sunday best – The Westin Melbourne announces a truffle high tea.
Is there anything The Westin Melbourne can’t do? Well, apparently not. Located on Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD, the legends who brought us High Cheese – an iconic iteration of high tea – is now taking a truffled turn with the launch of their new limited-edition menu.
In collaboration of cheesemonger of Maker & Monger, Anthony Femia, The Westin Melbourne announces their Truffle Takeover menu just in time for peak truffle season in Australia. Available for one month only, Melburnians can indulge in three tiers of truffle and cheese treats.
We’re talking shaved black truffled topped to baked Le Duc Vacherin with garlic, thyme and wine that’s served with quinoa, soya
and amaranth sourdough. As for die-hard cheese lovers, you can’t go wrong with the L’Artisan Grand Fleuri brie layered with sautéed mushrooms and leeks in oloroso sherry, and then appropriately dressed with fresh black truffle.
Like in any traditional high tea setting, The Westin’s Truffle Takeover will finish with walnut praline Madeleines filled with whipped Marcel Petite Comté and served with fresh black truffle and honeycomb – the ultimate combination for any true truffle lover.
“Truffles are at their best during July and August, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take these dishes to the next level with a dedicated Truffle High Cheese menu,” says The Westin’s executive chef, Michael Greenlaw.
And if you thought that the gastronomic delights stop there, you’re in for a surprise. The High Cheese Truffle Takeover menu also includes free-flowing Vittoria Coffee blends, Jing Tea herbal infusions and hot chocolate. Partnering with much-loved South Australian winery, Bird in Hand, will also perfectly match each savoury and sweet cheese and truffle course with their 2017 Chardonnay, 2015 Honeysuckle Riesling, and a 2021 Pinot Gris.
Better yet, if you’d rather stay in, The Westin Melbourne is also offering home delivery of their truffle high tea thanks to premium restaurant delivery service Providoor. To order or to book, head to The Westin Melbourne website.
