A sweeping sea breeze, paired wines and modern Australian cuisine. We may have just found one of the best restaurants on the Central Coast.

Tucked away on a nifty corner in New South Wales Toowoon Bay is a restaurant and wine bar that is equal parts friendly, modern and, surprisingly, unpretentious when it comes to fine dining.

Meet Cecilia’s, the Central Coast’s very own fine dining establishment that offers an innovative taste to your next coastal getaway.

Started by a husband-and-wife duo just as COVID-19 restrictions were put in place across New South Wales, Cecilia’s offers a deliciously modern take on fine dining without all of the pretentious bells and whistles.

Hanging on a corner on Toowoon Bay Road, the previous cafe and coffee shop now features an open kitchen, wood furnishings, and beautiful windows that’s perfect for people watching.

Beyond the friendly atmosphere, where this fine dining restaurant on New South Wales’ Central Coast stands out is, as you may have guessed it, the food.

Led by chef Adam in the kitchen, here the team elegantly creates a blissful combination of modern Australian cuisine that’s flourished by a fun assortment of Asian inspired flavours. Think Pork Belly with kimchi caramel and green apple, Robata Spatchcock with lemon myrtle and pickled carrots, and Dry Aged Rib Eye decorated with pickled mustard and caramelised eshallots, to name a few.

Of course, with an abundance of fresh seafood available, Cecilia’s Seafood Tasting Plate is a must try. Perfect for couples, you’ll be able to sample smoked king fish, white anchovies, pacific oysters and fresh tiger prawns.

Allowing guests to pick and choose from their a la carte menu, we recommend putting your trust into chef Adam and his Five Course Degustation ($80 per person) that can be eloquently paired with matching wines ($120) that are sourced from a beautiful assortment of wineries in Australia and Italy.

Otherwise, if you’re needing another reason to come back, Cecilia’s weekly specials, Banquet Menu or Ube White Chocolate Brownie dessert is a perfect excuse.

Bespoke, unpretentious and friendly, Cecilia’s in Toowoon Bay is, without a doubt, one of the best fine dining restaurants on the Central Coast.

I love pizza, perfectly shaken amaretto sours (extra points if served with maraschino cherries), horror films, as well as a hot summers day at the beach splashing around in the waves.
