Bistecca
Bistecca, a hidden Tuscan-style restaurant lying beneath Sydney’s CBD, certainly knows a few things when it comes to steak. Despite having only one steak dish on the menu, the Bistecca all Fiorentina ($18 per 100grams), guests can choose from a delicious assortment of sides to accompany their main. Think Bone Marrow with parmesan crust, Broccolini with roast tomato yoghurt and, our personal favourite, the Roast Potato with capers and pecorino. With an open kitchen located in the heart of the dining room, Bistecca is famed for cooking their steak over a charcoal fire served medium rare.

BLACK Bar and Grill
Go for the view and stay for the food. With sweeping views of Darling Harbour and huge floor-to-ceiling windows to maximise its glorious location, BLACK Bar and Grill is one of the more picturesque steak restaurants in Sydney. With an open kitchen, guests to BLACK Bar and Grill will find 10 cuts of steak available including the famed one-kilo, $740, dry-aged David Blackmore Ribeye. Botswana Butchery
Located in 25 Martin Place and hailing all the way from New Zealand, Botswana Butchery is considered as one of the best steak restaurants in Sydney. Highlighting Australian and New Zealand produce, Botswana Butchery combines fine dining with a friendly attitude. With a relaxed setting, Botswana ensures that their menus are the true highlight. Chophouse
Chophouse is a contemporary steak restaurant in Sydney where you don’t eat: you feast. Chophouse boasts a wide range of meats, from the grain-fed 1.5-kilogram Tomahawk from New South Wales Riverina region, to more manageable pasture- or grain-fed and wagyu steaks. With a New York-style brasserie atmosphere and an expansive selection of steaks and sides, Chophouse is a dining experience to remember. With two locations in Newtown and Bondi, Macelleria is one of our favourite Sydney steakhouses. Different from your typical steak restaurant, Macelleria sets themselves apart with their butcher shop like set-up. Sourcing MSA graded beef only the very best suppliers, at Macelleria guests pick and choose from their expansive selection. Think burgers, steaks, sausages, skewers, sides and so much more. If you haven’t already, be sure to pay Macelleria a visit in 2024!

If you’re a fan of Frankie’s or The Baxter Inn, then you’re going to love this full-service restaurant by The Swillhouse Group located in Sydney’s CBD. Walking through the doors of Restaurant Hubert can only be likened to travelling back in time to post-war Paris, so dress the part. With dim lighting, and worn-timber furnishings, this lavish French-style parlour is perfect for date night.
