Sunset20°N is a month-long celebration of Sydney’s music, food and culture at Barangaroo Reserve.
Barangaroo Reserve has played host to a myriad of spectacular events since its opening in 2015 and to make the most of this summer’s final warm nights, Barangaroo is hosting a celebration across 12 nights this February.
Focusing on the independence and innate strength of Barangaroo, a strong woman and leader of the Cammeraygal people in Sydney, Sunset20°N will highlight the magnificent and diverse craft of modern Australian women.
A diverse musical lineup will span the twelve nights and is set to feature empowering hip-hop singer Sampa the Great, Melbourne duo GL, indigenous folk queen Thelma Plum, nine-piece indie band Saskwatch and so much more.
Accompanying the live entertainment is The Grandmother Tree, an immersive, large-scale interactive artwork by Lucy Simpson of Gaawaa Miyay and not-for-profit architecture organisation Archrival. The work is inspired by indigenous Cammeraygal stories and the Sydney Red Gum tree and will cast a dramatic light across Barangaroo Reserve and Sydney Harbour’s skyline.
Sunset20°N will offer an array of dinner options from celebrated restaurants from around the nation. Each weekend will showcase a unique female guest chef alongside the curation of Claire Van Vuuren (Bloodwood, Popla) while menus will be adapted weekly by Jane Strode of Fred’s in Sydney, Analiese Gregory of Franklin in Hobart and Thi Le of Anchovy in Melbourne. As well as celebrating the prowess of female chefs across the country, the food on offer will celebrate the seaside location of Barangaroo and will offer full meals for a perfect late summer harbourside picnic and Pambula oysters shucked to order.
An accompanying array of bespoke beverages will feature local female producers specialising in everything from cocktails to beer and wine.
Make sure you head down to Barangaroo Reserve to make the most of February’s final warm nights with contemporary music, fantastic seafood and refreshing drinks. Sunset20°N will take place on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday night of February.
