Want Australia’s queen of chocolate to visit your place?
Well she can, and on a weekly basis.
One of the positives to come out of COVID-19 would have to be many Australians’ new or re-energised love for cooking. More specifically, baking. But forget the sourdough or banana bread images that have flooded your social media feeds, and up the ante by mastering true culinary skills of which involve the most glorious treat of them all – chocolate.
Australia’s very own queen of chocolate and owner of world-renowned Savour Chocolate & Patisserie School in Melbourne, Kirsten Tibballs, has been helping Aussies up their game via her exceptional online masterclasses for the past seven years. Yes, years. And yes, pre-COVID-19. But it has been the last seven-lockdown-induced months which has seen this Victoria-based business boom.
Kirsten Tibballs says of the recent increase in interest surrounding her online classes, “It has been fascinating to see such growth and interest in my online classes during the lockdown period, with a huge portion of this coming from avid home bakers. I hope that through my online classes, I’m able to bring a sense of joy to those at home and that they too, find comfort in the simple pleasures that cooking and baking can bring in such difficult times.”
Since launching her online classes, Kirsten has created over 350 video tutorials, with a new online class released on a weekly basis and each including a downloadable recipe. With something for everyone, the Savour online classes have been designed to appeal to all skills sets (so there’s no judgement), from complete beginners to seasoned professionals, and everyone in between.
For fans, home bakers and connoisseurs, Kirsten continues to reveal the secrets behind some of her most famous desserts including her MasterChef Australia challenge dishes Trio of Fruits and her most recent Meljito creation. Plus, from time to time she’s joined but some of the world’s most esteemed pastry chefs, ensuring your session is inspiring as entertaining!
But there’s even better news. If you’re in the festive spirit, you’ll want to sign up for the already available series of festive online classes, with new Christmas-inspired classes soon to be released. Think gift and treat ideas to gingerbread houses; all which make for fun activities (or challenges), but resulting in delicious eating. It’s a win-win situation.
