nel. restaurant is starting the festive season off the right way: with an eight-course degustation menu to entice the senses and get us in the mood for the best time of the year.

Once again, nel. has beat the pack and announced a month-long Christmas celebration which aims to evoke a nostalgic mood and help guests rediscover the magic of Christmas and festive food.
nel.’s executive chef, Nellie Robinson has designed a masterful eight-course Christmas menu, including an edible candle made of roast chicken-flavoured bone marrow which doubly acts as a theatrical centrepiece. Robinson has once again applied his adventurous approach to cooking and has admitted his child-like obsession with Christmas which inspired him to create this nostalgic menu.

We don’t know about you, but we’re ridiculously excited about Robinson’s Silent Night-themed Christmas candle which is designed to be lit as guests arrive. The candle’s ‘wax’ is made of bone marrow, and will melt in time for the serving of traditional roast chicken stuffing. Diners can then tear apart the stuffing and use their liquified candle as a decadent dip.

The eight-course degustation menu will be served for dinner, while a six-course Christmas lunch will be offered on eight occasions from Wednesday through to Friday in each week of December. Lunch at nel. starts at $69 per person.
The nel. Christmas menu starts at $118 per guest, with matching beverages selected by nel.’s sommelier available for an extra $95 per guest.
