What’s New Year’s Eve without a pop, fizz, clink and sip?
Just a regular party.
So to help you bring in the new decade, we’ve sourced our top four drops to cheers to this December 31st 2019.
Let the next decade begin!
Dean & Monroe Prosecco
If you love sparkling white wine, then you’ll love the sweet fresh taste of Australian Dean & Monroe Prosecco. Produced in the King Valley, the celebratory fizz has been crafted to feature mouth-watering hints of melon and white peach, making it the perfect drop to pair with a cheese platter, crackers, dried fruit, seafood and chips, or a fantastic accompaniment for canapés such as smoked salmon and oysters. This drink is perfect to open now or over the next 18 months, so if you over order – don’t fret. And surprisingly, this delicious splash is only $13, so it doesn’t hurt your wallet post-Christmas.
Zontes Bolle Fellici Prosecco
Sticking to our love for the lighter and more fruit-forward bubbly, we present you with Zontes Bolle Fellici Prosecco. This stunning drop’s fruit was sourced from hand-tended blocks in the southernmost part of the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. Pale and golden straw in colour with a tinge of green, this drop is lively with fresh citrus and hints of honey and white flowers. It’s a super fresh and clean drop which leaves a light, crisp and citrus curd note on the palate. This New Year’s Eve be sure to serve with melon and wafer-thin prosciutto – the ultimate pairing! At only $20 per bottle, it’s a steal this New Year.
Riversdale Estate Crux Sparkling
Now we’re heading to beautiful Tasmania for an elegant and complex sparkling from Riversdale Estate, located in the Coal River Valley. This is a well-balanced, refreshing drink with pleasant soft fruit and yeast flavours that linger, before a clean and dry finish. This pinot chardonnay varietal is perfectly paired with fried fillets of perch with toasted almonds – specific, we know, but 100% worth the match. If you can tailor into your New Year’s Eve menu, it will be an absolute crowd-pleaser. Again, an affordable drop, this Riversdale Estate Crux Sparkling is $22 a bottle.
Duperrey Champagne Premier Cru Brut NV
The most glamorous and traditional drink for New Year’s Eve is, of course, Champagne. And our pick to bring in 2020 is Champagne Duperrey, where the grapes are sourced from 100% Premier Cru vineyards – some of the best in France’s Champagne region. Pale straw in colour, this drop has hints of apple, stone fruit, red fruits and a touch of a nutty complexity which results in a creamy mid-palate ending on a delicate finish. It’s the perfect pairing for your New Year’s Eve canapés or oysters, but also has the depth to be enjoyed with grilled seafood or chicken. This one caps our list and the price point at $40 per bottle is still an absolute steal for the quality and taste.
