Their a la carte menu consists of charcoal roast king salmon, ½ BBQ eastern rock lobster spaghetti and, not to forget, entrees like roasted Shark Bay scallop and cold poached Spencer Gulf prawn salad. Match your seafood feast with a French brut or Tasmanian blanc de blancs and your lunch or dinner is fit for royalty. Harbourfront Seafood Restaurant
For over 30 years, Harbourfront Seafood Restaurant has been serving Wollongong with great seafood and homely service. Make it easy and go for roasted king prawns, and a Thirlmere duck breast for mains, while washing it all down with a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Best of all, you get served with the waterfront view of Wollongong Harbour Precinct, witnessing boats bopping with the waves and the occasional seagull hovering in the distance. It may be an hour-and-a-half drive south of Sydney, but it’s worth being on this list.

Jonah's
Jonah’s is a boutique hotel in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, but they also house one of the best seafood restaurants in Sydney, Jonah’s. Part of the charm of this restaurant is the majestic view of Whale Beach, but the rest boils down to the food. With a three-course a la carte menu ($125pp), seafood becomes the staple. From Hiramasa Kingfish to a whole lobster for two, you will be spoiled on choice. Better yet, for all of the wine lovers out there, you can also match your meal to a wine pairing menu for only $63 more. Be sure to soak up the scenery, and hope for a hot sunny day.

Kickin' Inn
Looking for a seafood boil in Sydney? Well, thanks to Kickin’ Inn, your dreams have finally come true! With guests encouraged to eat with their hands, here you won’t find any cutlery or plates (unless requested), bringing you seafood straight from the bag. But don’t worry, bibs and gloves are provided! Start your seafood adventure with squid tentacles, tempura calamari, or good old fashioned mozzarella sticks. There are many great wharves in Sydney, but the most underrated is in Woolloomooloo. Here you’ll find Manta Restaurant, serving delicious seafood with delicious views of Sydney’s skyline. From whole fish to blue swimmer crab, you’ll be treated to the best of Australian seafood, with a touch of overseas. Iranian Beluga Caviar, anyone? With the most daring wine menu that spans 28 pages and most continents, Manta Restaurant also caters to vegans and vegetarians, from saffron linguine to fig bruschetta. Well worth visiting in 2024!

Mimi's
Sydney’s second favourite beach, Coogee, also hosts a revered seafood restaurant called Mimi’s. It’s under the hospitality conglomerate Merivale, so you know it’s in good hands. Expect dishes like abalone that’s charcoal roasted and served with brown butter; baby capers and lemon thyme; or live mud crab, salt baked with fennel pollen mayonnaise, roasted garlic butter and salted brioche. Plus, to shake up your night, Mimi’s also offers caviar bumps served with frozen vodka. An exceptional experience, we do also recommend saving room for dessert!

North Bondi Fish
At North Bondi Fish expect delicately de-boned rainbow trout, king prawn mafaldine pasta sprinkled with fresh chili and, not to forget, the juiciest oysters around. In other words: North Bondi Fish is possible the best rendition of modern seafood cuisine. Ormeggio at The Spit
Seafood meets Italian cuisine at Ormeggio near The Spit Bridge.
