Soggy or hard? Australia, we’ve found out how many Weet-Bix you do!
Adult or child, Sanitarium’s Weet-Bix is a favourite amongst Aussies for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as a snack at the footy and even as dessert. But the real question is, how do Australians like to eat their Weet-Bix?
First things first. As we begin to prepare our bowl of the grandest of cereals, more than eight in 10 (84.5 per cent) of Aussies like to put their Weet-Bix in a bowl and then add milk. Only 3.8 per cent of us prefer the dry, crunchy, no-milk version. And only one-tenth of us (9.9 per cent) don’t like Weet-Bix at all.
To settle the debate over complete versus crumbled, more than seven in 10 (71.9 per cent) of Aussies prefer to eat Weet-Bix as whole bricks in comparison to the less than three in 10 (28.1 per cent) of us who like to crush it up.
What’s your favourite Weet-Bix topping – sugar, banana, honey, berries or yoghurt? All-in-all, we’re a sweet bunch.
If you’re as sweet as nearly half of respondents (46.2 per cent), you’d agree that a sprinkle of sugar is the best topping for your Weet-Bix. For the two-piece-a-day fruit lovers, you’re amongst 40.7 per cent of Australians who enjoy a banana in their bowl. Coming in third is a drizzle of honey, preferred by almost one-third (32.5 per cent) of Aussies.
“Dry Weet-Bix, butter and Vegemite”, said one respondent.
When it comes to Weet-Bix, we Aussies like to keep things traditional. well over three-quarters of us (81.9 per cent) opt for breakfast as the best time to enjoy a bowl. For those who turn to cereal as a quick and easy bite anytime of the day, you’re not alone – 13.4 per cent of Hunter and Bligh members say that whether it be breakfast, lunch, a snack, dinner or even dessert, Weet-Bix can be enjoyed any time of day.
Blame it on the weather or blame it on convenience but 70.1 per cent of us like our Weet-Bix cold in comparison to the 29.9 per cent of us who like the hot alternative.
Finally, to wrap-up the debate of all debates, we wanted to know how many Weet-Bix us Aussies actually do. Topping the list, for those who like things that come in twos, you’re amongst 47.1 per cent of Australians that like the duo. “The third time’s a charm” for a quarter (24.9 per cent) of respondents, who reach for three. And, interestingly, only two per cent of us can munch down more than six at a time.
One Australian even likes to make their cereal more like an un-blended smoothie: “Weet-Bix, milk, banana, honey and a shot of espresso!”
