Across three special evenings Wilson & Market will host their Meet the Maker series.
The first event of the series will kick of Saturday 26 August and will showcase seven wines from acclaimed Australian winemaker Mac Forbes.
Held at the Wilson & Market Wine Store, guests can expect to try new single vineyard releases paired with fine cheeses from Yarra Valley Dairy and Stone and Crow Cheese Company. Wines will include 2016 Yarra Valley Chardonnay, a 2016 Woori Yallock Chardonnay and a 2016 Codlstream Pinot Noir alongside several others.
With an incomparable knowledge in Australian and European winemaking, Forbes will share specific characteristics and differences of the sites he works with throughout the Yarra Valley. With a mantra of ‘honest wines that reflect extraordinary sites’, Forbes and his partners seek out disregarded, overlooked and one-of-a-kind vineyards with fascinating histories. The unique backstory adds a quintessentially Australian edge to Forbes products.
The objective of the evening is to educate guests on understanding and appreciating unique, selected wines all in the understated luxury of the Wilson & Market Wine Store.
The second Meet the Maker event will be held on Saturday 23 September and is where wine lovers can join host Rollo Crittenden to hear about the latest Crittenden Estate. And with food always in mind, guests can try wood-fired Lahmacun, a Mediterranean style flat bread.
The third and final event of the series will be on Saturday 14 October. Guests can come celebrate the launch of new Laurent Perrier Cuvee and the opening of the new Terrace Bar. An event perfectly suited to the Spring season, guests can enjoy the enticing Cuvee paired with artisan rock oysters.
Long-time enthusiasts and newcomers alike will leave with a better understanding of what Victoria’s world-class local producers have to offer.
