More than just your standard Italian fare…
Tucked within the charismatic streets of Barangaroo, Sydney’s favourite Italian restaurant, bar, cellar and marketplace, Bel & Brio, is bringing Italy to you this spring, since your trip to Italy this year was unfortunately cancelled.
After their successful launch, Bel & Brio will be partnering with the world’s most renowned amaretto-tasting liqueur, Disaronno Original, to bring you a degustation like no other. For one night only, on Wednesday 14 October, sink your teeth into a four-course, Italian-inspired meal, all paired with four exquisite Disaronno-infused cocktails.
Led by the Bel & Brio team, the Disaronno Dinner will be brought to life by none other than Disaronno’s brand ambassador Danilo Migliorini. Alongside Danilo is Bel & Brio’s chef, Davide Incardona, designing the limited-edition menu; bar manager Daniele Merli concocting the Disaronno-infused cocktails; and bartender Andrea Di Mardi shaking up a surprise. This is bound to be an event no Sydneysider will want to miss out on.
Like any start to an Italian meal, Bel & Brio will present their guests with a serving of Bruschetta that replaces the traditional tomatoes with a covering of fresh, ruby tuna tartare and black sesame. Paired with the Godfather cocktail, which can be easily be described as a highball to any bar enthusiast, Bel & Brio put their own spin on it by mixing parts of Disaronno, Scotch whisky, yuzu and soda water.
Next, for a real taste of the sweet life, Daniele and Danilo designed the La Dolce Vita cocktail, a combination of pineapple rum mixed with kaffir lime, three bitters and then smoked with rosemary – a likely contender to any true Italian home garden. Paired with the slow-cooked Wagyu Short Rib that’s dressed in an orgasmic dark chocolate and spiced jus, Disaronno Dinner diners will be tantalised by the match made in heaven.
To reset the palate before the highlight of the night, Bel & Brio have designed a three-part cheese platter that’s adorned with slices of stravecchio, granbu di bufala and brigante. Served with a homemade chutney, truffle-infused honey and accompanied by cocktail number three, the Amarcord (Disaronno, gin, nutmeg, honey, passionfruit, chocolate and cashew), guests will be able to taste their way through the true spirit of the spring season.
Finally, guests will finish with one of, if not, the most important meal from of the four-course Disaronno Dinner; the dessert. Here guests will be treated with a decadent white chocolate Cheesecake that’s adorned with the sweet tang of passionfruit, as well as the last cocktail of the evening, the Trip to Mexico. The best pick-me-up after three amazing courses, the Trip to Mexico blends a combination of Disaronno, mezcal, tequila blanco, grapefruit and agave in one punchy concoction.
Of course, for those Sydneysiders who can’t make the Disaronno Dinner, Bel & Brio are currently open from breakfast through to dinner seven days a week. As well as that, the team also boasts an impressive online shop that’s perfect for restaurant made dishes, drinks and even ready-made meals that are delivered straight to your door.
